TypeToLearn is an iOS keyboard and language-learning app. This policy describes the app's data practices. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].

Typing and language learning

The keyboard processes input and limited text around the cursor on your device to compose text, suggest words, and offer next-word predictions. Chinese input uses bundled local dictionaries and a local input engine. Learned phrases and input-engine personalization may be stored on your device. TypeToLearn does not send your keystrokes, conversations, learned phrases, or clipboard text to servers operated by the developer, and does not use them to train a remote model.

Learning translations use Apple's Translation framework with installed language resources. Apple manages language-pack downloads and its system services. The app does not operate a separate translation server. Previews use bundled examples and do not upload text.

Local storage

Settings, selected languages, onboarding progress, learned Chinese phrases, recent emoji, and clipboard items you explicitly save are stored locally. An App Group shares settings, learned phrases, and membership status between the app and its keyboard extension. The keyboard temporarily caches translations for responsiveness. It does not save a complete log of what you type.

You can delete saved phrases and saved clipboard items in the app or keyboard. Deleting the app removes its local app data, subject to Apple's device backup and restore behavior. Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Clipboard and permissions

The app does not continuously monitor the clipboard. It reads clipboard content when you request a paste or clipboard action, subject to iOS permission controls. Clipboard items are saved only when you choose to save them. Full Access may be required for clipboard functionality; granting it does not cause TypeToLearn to upload your typing to the developer.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and one-time purchases. TypeToLearn uses StoreKit to verify transaction and entitlement information such as product identifiers, expiration, and revocation status, and stores the membership information needed by the keyboard locally. The developer does not receive your full payment-card details. Apple processes purchase and account data under its own privacy policy.

Support, diagnostics, and external pages

If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you include, use it to respond and troubleshoot, and retain it only as needed for support and applicable obligations. Please avoid sending sensitive input or personal conversations. You can request deletion of support correspondence by email, subject to applicable retention obligations.

Local diagnostic messages can include translation error codes, selected language identifiers, and permission state. These diagnostic messages do not intentionally include candidate text or clipboard contents. Apple may collect system or crash diagnostics according to your device settings.

The app does not include advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs. Opening support or policy pages hosted by Notion, or Apple purchase and legal pages, connects you to those providers, whose own privacy policies apply.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the app changes and will update its effective date. For questions or privacy requests, email [email protected].
